YOUR FIRST CLASS

What Should I Wear?

Wear comfortable clothing and supportive athletic shoes or dance sneakers that allow you to move and turn easily.

For your safety, please avoid flip-flops, slides, mules, or sandals without a back strap.

What Should I Bring?

Bring your Villages ID, a water bottle, comfortable shoes, and a willingness to give it a try.

What Should I Expect?

Classes are relaxed, friendly, and beginner-focused, with repetition and encouragement along the way. Arrive a few minutes early, find a comfortable place on the dance floor, and learn at your own pace.

You are also welcome to watch part of a class before joining in.

Dance Floor Tips

Think Small

Use comfortable, controlled steps and keep kicks low. Smaller movements improve balance and leave room for everyone.

If you lose your place, don’t stop in the middle of the dance floor. Keep moving with the line and join back in when you’re ready.

Keep the Lines Moving

Don't Walk Through Moving Lines
When entering or leaving the dance floor, wait for an opening or walk around the outside of the moving lines.
Silence Your Cell Phone
Please silence your cell phone before class begins so everyone can enjoy the music and instruction without interruptions.

Keep Food & Drinks Off the Dance Floor

Remember, Everyone Was a Beginner Once

Have Fun!

Most of All...

Everyone misses steps and loses their place sometimes—even experienced dancers. Smile, keep moving, and don’t worry about being perfect. Confidence comes with repetition.

Welcome—I look forward to seeing you on the dance floor!
