Dance Floor Tips
Simple habits that help everyone enjoy the dance floor.
Line dancing is a shared activity. A little awareness and courtesy help keep the dance floor safe, comfortable, and enjoyable for everyone.
Think Small
Take comfortable, controlled steps and keep kicks low unless the dance calls for something different. Smaller movements help maintain proper spacing, improve balance, and make dancing more enjoyable for everyone.
If you lose your place, don't stop in the middle of the dance floor. Keep moving with the line and rejoin the dance when you're ready.
Keep the Lines Moving
Don't Walk Through Moving Lines
If you need to enter or leave the dance floor, wait for an opening or walk around the outside whenever possible. Walking through moving dance lines can interrupt the dancers and increase the chance of collisions.
Keep Food & Drinks Off the Dance Floor
Silence Your Cell Phone
Please silence your cell phone before class begins so everyone can enjoy the music and instruction without interruptions.
